it was only a matter of time

We knew that, at one point or another, Jack would need to have another surgery. We thought that the eye muscle surgery was going to be the next one in line. . .

and then. . .

I took Jackson to his new ENT doctor. I was expecting Jackson to need ear tubes for his ear infections that weren't going away. The appointment was originally scheduled by Jack's feeding therapist for swallowing and breathing issues.
Long story short: the clinic room included the ENT, and ENT resident, and Jack's feeding therapist (We all had to hold him down for the exams and NO, a scope was not used). Jack's ears were checked. No more infection. The right ear, that ruptured, is healing nicely. Jack's nose was checked. Definitely a deviated septum, much much worse on the right side. Jack's mouth and tonsils were checked. His tonsils are large and the right one is bigger than the left.
The ENT doctor believes that Jackson also has adenoids because of his constant runny nose, snorting, snoring, and horrible drooling.
The result: Jack needs to have his adenoids and tonsils removed.

Booger!

And the sad portion of my post:
Stephanie Kohler, age 24, CFC, residing in St. Louis, MO, passed in her sleep Sunday night. She had a UTI and was being treated for it. She was all smiles and giggles on Sunday. I had the pleasure of visiting her two different times at St. Louis Children's during Jack's admits. She will be missed.

4:45pm-arrive home
5:00pm-put Jack in his bed because he asked

Jack learned that placing his sockless foot in his mouth is fun!
Jack learned that flossing his sockless toes with chips is fun!
Jack took his shoe and hit his foot with it. THAT WAS GREAT!

been so long. . .

Wow. It's been a long time since I've written. I'm so sorry.
Time has just gotten away from me.

Jackson has been doing great! Other than a low-grade fever that continues to come and go, along with shoving his finger deep in his ears.

Jack has been tasting a ton of different foods: BBQ chips, Funyuns, cookies, Lucky Charms marshmallows and cereal pieces, alfredo noodles. . .WOW!

Today, when Evelyn and I picked Jackson up from school, his teachers had some pictures for me. I took a picture of the picture!

This is Jack in a standing frame! He was in it for 10 minutes!

Oh My Goodness!!!!!!

I've been thinking about sharing this with everyone since Monday, but it just keeps happening. . .
Jack is tasting, like a TON of different snacks!
On Monday Jack tasted Cocoa Puffs at lunch. He as licking and sometimes biting. He choked on one and coughed it up. Then, to my surprise, he starting tasting more. Later on Jack tasted Pita Chips and Cheese Puffs. That night he tasted bath bubbles.
On Tuesday, Jack tasted Cocoa Puffs several times.
Today, Jack tasted Cocoa Puffs this during breakfast, Cheese Puffs during snack, and Baked Popcorn at lunch. The chese puffs made his face get blotchy. It took about 25 minutes for it to clear.

The most entertaining part: Jack is taking the soggy snacks and placing them in the side cups of his tray.

Oh, and we're going back to the pediatrician very shortly because Jack still have a low-grade fever. . .Booger!
